February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month



Women's Crisis Support~Defensa de Mujeres invites you to join us in helping to raise awareness on this important issue by encouraging statewide youth, families, schools, law enforcement communities, government agencies, elected officials, civic organizations and other interested groups to show support for the organizations and individuals who provide critical advocacy, services, and assistance to victims of teen dating violence.

Did you know...

  • 8.2% of California's 11th grade students report being "hit, slapped, or physically hurt on purpose" by their partner

  • Youth ages 16-24 experience the highest per capita rate of intimate partner violence of any age group - a rate nearly triple the national average

Women’s Crisis Support ~ Defensa de Mujures

Women’s Crisis Support~Defensa de Mujeres provides crisis intervention, including our 24-hour crisis line, crisis counseling, support groups, and referrals and information about domestic violence or sexual assault. WCS~DdM also provides counseling services for children and youth, educational presentations about domestic violence and sexual assault to schools and service providers throughout the county, and emergency safe shelter for women and children in need. All of our services are available in Spanish.
